View or download Australian Antarctic automatic weather station data

The full dataset for each station in the table below can be downloaded as netcdf files. To do this, you need to first view station details and data summary by clicking on the station name in the table. All data provided have passed through quality control to erase erroneous observations caused by satellite communication errors or faulty sensors. For information on the sensors used and the history of operation of all stations in the network refer to the station records.

The full dataset or data for particular sensors or particular periods can be converted to ascii (text) format using software available at this website.  Stations for which data are currently available are shown as a link.   Where several stations have been in operation at the same site, each station is listed chronologically under the same site name but with an alphabetical suffix corresponding to the time the station was in operation.  The first station to operate at a site does not have a suffix.

The dataset is current to the end of 2007 and is updated at the beginning of each new year. Stations still in operation in 2007 have years terminated with a hyphen in the Data available column.
